Kevin Strait

Kevin is the ideal advocate for growing businesses. He is a founder and entrepreneur familiar with the difficulties and rewards of business ownership.

His industrial and academic background include the automotive industry, commercial aerospace, civil aviation, remote sensory systems, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, consumer electronics, heavy manufacturing, software development, and laboratory research. He is also experienced in commercial construction, business software deployment, institutional foodservice, and the healthcare industry.

Kevin attended Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) to study mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering, physics, and business. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. His research included astronomy, semiconductors, industrial controls, acoustics, and drivetrain engineering for the automobile industry. He also served the music industry as an audio engineer, working for several production companies and record labels.

Even while studying at VCU, Kevin’s entrepreneurial spirit continued to shine. He founded Dominion Wire, an engineering consulting service focused on mechatronics, telecommunications, and dosimetry. He also founded Anzen Pharmaceuticals to research improved pain relief drugs for over-the-counter use.

Kevin held engineering and project management roles at Afton Chemical Corporation. He was granted two patents for his research on petrochemicals and fuel-efficient automotive lubricants. Kevin continued to guide automotive engineering and research projects as a consultant.

Kevin expanded his aerospace services by working with airports, flight schools, prime contractors, tier one suppliers, and government agencies. His aerospace work provides coordination between pilots, airports, aircraft operators, OEMs, and the FAA.

Looking to pivot to the practice of law, Kevin attended Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He focused his studies on business formation, mergers and acquisitions, business finance, sales strategy, intellectual property, business liability, dispute mediation, and aviation law. He is also a commercial real estate broker, helping clients secure new business real estate assets.

He practices law in Colorado and Wyoming, and serves clients nationwide in matters of trademark law, copyrights, and aviation law. Kevin combines his practice of business law with the firm’s broader practice of estate planning. This combination makes Kevin an ideal attorney for business succession planning and business continuity planning. Your family-owned business and generational wealth can be protected, from founders to children to grandchildren, through Kevin’s careful planning.

Kevin’s charity work includes serving as the President of the Board of Directors of the Turning Point Center for Youth and Family Development in Fort Collins, Colorado and Greeley, Colorado. He also provides aviation law consultations through the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Working with the Colorado Attorneys for the Arts, he supports Colorado artists and creators with trademark and copyright advice. From his lifelong passion for aerospace, Kevin works closely with the Colorado Space Business Roundtable.

Kevin also has a talent for teaching. He is a guest speaker and guest lecturer for university classes on law, aviation, and business. He coaches businesses on finance and strategy through several organizations, including The Innosphere, LoCo Think Tank, Rockies Venture Club, and Front Range Community College.

He is a member of several professional associations, including Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Lawyer-Pilot Bar Association, Colorado Pilots Association, National Space Society, International Air and Transportation Safety Bar Association, National Business Aviation Association, Colorado Space Business Roundtable, Electronic Frontier Foundation, Toastmasters, Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce, Denver Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association.

Kevin stays active in his free time by working on antique cars, flying small aircraft, coaching business leaders, and designing electronic gadgets in his home workshop.
